The Coffee

Kelloo Siko is another exceptional nano lot from the talented group at Nordic Approach, Oslo. From 2023's Ethiopian sourcing, this was one of the most amazing finds, considering classic washed coffees that scored 87.25 at the point of selection.

Nordic's view is that if you want to be the one to find and buy the best coffees out there, you must pay a premium for them, thus supporting the farmers that go the extra mile to produce such unbelievable quality, encouraging quality and the premiums they receive in return.

As the quality of Ethiopian coffee continues to develop, there are more farms becoming synonymous with exceptional quality, alongside the likes of Doramina, Buftu Gudina and Nano Chala, all of whom have been producing stand out lots for a number of years now. Kelloo Siko is a cooperative that typify premium up and coming coffee farming and processing, and are making a firm name for themselves.

Kelloo Siko is a classic washed coffee, with amazing clarity and complexity. It has a very clean profile, rich with white and tropical fruits and an amazingly refined acidity that is super refreshing. It shows notes of nectarine, blossom honey & lemon, all held together is a sweet vibrant cup.

The Farmers / Co-Op

Kelloo Siko comes from a washing station named Siko. Located in the Siko village of Uraga, Guji, this washing station produces quality cup profiles and high-scoring lots. The Siko washing station was founded in 2017, and it is located in Guji (Uraga). The station sits at 2100 - 2250 masl. The farmers’ average plot size is approximately 0.5 - 2 hectares.

The station buys cherries from around 500 neighbouring farmers, whose farms sit at high altitudes of 2100 - 2250 masl. The land’s rich, fertile, red soils, combined with constant sunlight exposure, allow the well-trained farmers to grow high quality coffee we keep coming back for.

About the naming:

“Kelloo” means "yellow" in the Oromiffa language. This concept represents coffee that tastes like yellow tropical fruit, florals, peach and stone fruits.

Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
Delivery & Returns

Delivery
We offer UK and international shipping Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Orders usually take between 1-2 days within the UK, but may take up to 3 days to get to you. Orders of espresso machines and grinders may take 2-3 days longer, due to the additional bench testing service we provide. For the full particulars, please see our terms and conditions.

Returns
Returned items must be unused and be returned in original packaging with any enclosed documentation and in perfect resalable condition. Once the goods have been received back and checked, as per our terms and conditions, we will issue a full refund or exchange on receipt.
