The Profile

Coming from our trusted supplier Nordic Approach, who focus solely on sourcing traceable quality green coffees with distinct flavor profiles we have Diima Danche.

This coffee falls into the "Diima" flavour profile. Diima means "red" in the Oromiffa language, and it indicates that you will find intensity, fruit and floral notes in the cup and that's exactly what we have found.

In the cup it is clean, floral and sweet but has a complexity which we found to be very enjoyable. We would suggest brewing this coffee with any pour over method to really pull out all of the delicate notes, although using an aeropress or drip method will give you a super full bodied and flavourfull cup.

The Producers

The Danche station buys cherries from approximately 400 farmers who produce high yields thanks to fertile soil and good farming methods. The farms sit at high altitudes (2000 - 2300 masl) and have an average size between 1-2 hectares.

The elevated altitudes play a significant role in shaping the distinct flavour profiles produced at this washing station. Harvesting typically takes place later in the season compared to other regions, owing to its location. This prolonged cherry maturation period significantly contributes to the exceptional quality of the produce.

Moreover, the team at the Danche Washing Station have a lot of experience in agronomy and agriculture, giving them the freedom to experiment effectively with new processing methods.

Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
Delivery & Returns

Delivery
We offer UK and international shipping Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Orders usually take between 1-2 days within the UK, but may take up to 3 days to get to you. Orders of espresso machines and grinders may take 2-3 days longer, due to the additional bench testing service we provide. For the full particulars, please see our terms and conditions.

Returns
Returned items must be unused and be returned in original packaging with any enclosed documentation and in perfect resalable condition. Once the goods have been received back and checked, as per our terms and conditions, we will issue a full refund or exchange on receipt.
